After the included years
Every keepsake includes five years online at ourskies.love/personal/<yours>, with nothing to pay in between; after that, hosting renews at $19/yr. An address of its own works differently — $40/yr for a subdomain, $100/yr for a domain you own — and while one of those is running it covers the hosting too. Everything that renews here is yearly; there is no monthly plan.
Questions people actually ask
- Can I give this as a gift?
- Yes, and that is what most of them are. You build it, you buy it, and you send the link — there is nothing for the other person to set up, install or sign into. If it is a surprise, the keepsake stays unreadable at its address until you publish it, so a link that goes out early opens nothing.
- Does the person I send it to need an account?
- No. A published keepsake opens for anyone with the link. Accounts exist for building one, not for reading one. If you would rather it were not readable by anyone who happens to have the URL, the Access tab can put a passphrase in front of it.
- What if I don’t know the exact time?
- Use the nearest hour you are sure of. The sky turns about 15° an hour, so being an hour out rotates the picture a little — it does not change which constellations were up, and it does not change the moon’s phase at all. If you know it was “some time that evening”, 9pm is an honest choice and the one we default to.
- Can I edit chapters after I’ve shared it?
- Yes, for as long as the site is up. The studio stays yours after the purchase — add chapters, rewrite them, change the theme — and every change is live at the address immediately. Nothing here is printed and posted, so nothing is final.
- What happens after the five years?
- Hosting renews at $19/yr. If it lapses, the keepsake stops being readable at its address but nothing is deleted — everything you wrote is still there, and renewing puts it straight back. We email before it happens rather than letting a gift go dark unannounced.
- What’s the difference between Keepsake and Living?
- Keepsake is the full site — as many chapters as you like, every experience, your own custom chapters, poster PDFs, 5 years hosted. Living adds chapters that stay sealed until a date you choose, and private encrypted notes between the two of you with an alert when one arrives.
- What’s Concierge, versus doing it yourself in the studio?
- Concierge is Living, assembled for you — send the dates, places and photos over WhatsApp and it comes back built, album included. Useful if a dozen chapters is more form-filling than you want to do, or the gift is a surprise and handing over studio access would give it away.
