Every star is plotted from a real catalogue, projected for your date through the same spherical astronomy — date to Julian day, to sidereal time, to altitude and azimuth at your coordinates — that a planetarium uses. Stars below the horizon that night are left out, because they genuinely weren’t up. The moon gets its own calculation: its actual phase and its actual position for that hour, not a generic crescent icon.

Two chapters on two different nights, or in two different cities on the same night, draw two different skies — because they were different skies.

Every chapter carries its own location, and this is the preset that exists specifically because of it. Set the origin date once and add it for each city — same night, same time, two chapters, and the two skies genuinely differ because the two places did.
